Will it be too late to start ante-natal classes?

Hi everyone,

I am currently 19weeks pregnant but out of the country, will not be back until I am around 32 weeks. My question is do I need to start ante-natal classes here or can I wait till I am back to the UK?

Thank you

I think you might be a bit late but you never know.

Are you looking for free nhs classes or to pay for nct class?

Are you registered to a GP and midwife in the uk? If you are, just give them a ring to see what your area offers . They might be able to book you in for them now.

Alternatively go on the nct website, there might be a local class that they do over a weekend rather than the 6wk course.

Good luck xxxx

Thanks a bunch -- I am not sure how it works but I am able to pay if I have to.

I will contact my midwife as soon as I can but will do well to check the NCT website.

Thanks again

I'm doing the nct ones, 2sundays 10-4 and one Wednesday evening 7-9:30 and I'm doing these bbetween 33+3 and 34+3 so if u r willing to pay that's an option. I just can't have the time off work that's y I did it this way but its what suits u. Talk to ur midwife shel talk u through ur options. X

Don't panic, I had shingles at about 16 weeks and was dreading my scan but all was fine! Xx

Thank you Lou! Did you have Aciclovir too? I am hoping like yours everything will be fine with mine.

I had something similar, brain too mushy to recall now but it wasn't deemed officially safe for pregnancy, though not actively unsafe either and both are considered to have a good safety record. Not ideal but ultimately very low risk! No need to fret I reckon (easier said than done) xx

I'm booked into NCT classes between 33 and 34 weeks, and NHS ones at around 35 weeks. So you should be fine.

I have just finished an NCT course of classes and would really recommend them. They took place between 32-36 weeks for me. Great teacher, lots of useful info and met some lovely people. They get booked up quickly so would investigate soon.

Thanks Tawny, I sent them an email enquiry yesterday, they should get back to me within 7 days.

Thank you again.
