Myositis caused by statin damage
Looking for a good but gentle exercise programme I can try. Can anyone point me in right direction please.
I have statin-induced NAM (me with anti-HMGCR antibodies) too. The first webinar included a talk from a PT on exercise with Myositis and talked aboput a revision of previous thought that exercise, when the disease was in full flare risked damaging your muscles. There was a link to download a pdf of exercises. It is just in progress, and they were looking for feedback on it. Sorry if I am telling you things you know.
There is also a PDF from the Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden that is very good (and the one I am using)
The link is tinyurl.com/rk3vx58 (and clicking the link will make the PDF automatically download to your computer) and the video that talks about it is in my Myositis Exercise playlist. I collected things for myself but happy to share tinyurl.com/v5nq9yv
I have been religious about doing these exercises about 5 days a week (two days for laundry and house cleaning - I figure that works out to 7 days a week exercise LOL!) along with about 30 minutes on the treadmill every day. It helps keep the damn steroids from kicking my sugar levels up and I feel like I am building strength.
HTH!

Hi there,
I was diagnosed with IBM about 6 years ago and had already started regular exercising after noticing the muscle loss. I now do about 40 minutes each day to give my whole body a bit of a refresh. Some of it is quite strenuous but if you would like me to send a resume of the 40 minutes please email me direct. (petermay463@btinternet.com).
Brilliant thank you... will email you
