Some of us need help to live with a chronic illness and your GP can arrange that. I know for some people myositis can cause long term problems but that is not the same for all. Diagnosed with PM and Anti Jo five years ago zi am back to where I was without having had any flares so far. I tapered all steriods in 2013 but remain on the Azathioprine. It is important on a forum such as this to give the positive side as well, so important for the newly diagnosed person to read. At diagnosis all I could find to read was doom and gloom about those of us with PM and anti Jo. There is life after treatment with myositis. Best wishes to all. Mary
