The Cats Seem to Like the New Chair
Wait. Is the new chair for you or the cats? Silly question, right? They are very handsome cats.
Thanks, RomCom87! We are very fond of them. π We're actually hanging on to this very large chair for our adult kid, who doesn't have room for it right now. We have actually had this same chair live with us before, for the same reason! Our two previous sweet kitties loved it at that time, so we weren't too surprised that it appealed to these guys, as well. π₯°
OMG: Teddy and Jack are adorable. How old are they? My latest rescue, Bossy baby brother, is only seven months old, but he is getting so huuuge.
He is my first male cat. His sister, Ali Cat, will be three yo on March 15, 2025. My 58th BD is on March 29. Two Airies B*tches!
They are both Tuxedo rescues. Ali is mostly white with the markings of a Jersey Dairy Cow. Bossy is mostly black with white mittens and a white bib. Sooo cute.
As you advised, Ali Cat was the first and only cat. She and I were very close. A "territorial female" indeed. But, the hissing has mostly stopped. Sometimes buddies sometimes not. Just like me and my brother too.
My brother is three years younger than I as Bossy is three years younger than Ali. His given name at the rescue was BosTon given that he was three years younger, Bossy baby brother was born. Hahaha
Hope you are doing well. Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy Thanksgiving! π¦π€π½π€
Thanks, Donna0329! Teddy is ten, we've only had him since he was approximately eight. He was a stray; we fell in love with him on Petfinder and had to drive two hours to the shelter that had him! No nearer cat would do! Jack is probably around five or six, we got him two years ago, too . He was abandoned in front of a different shelter overnight (in the cold!) in his carrier. They're not super cuddly with each other; they mostly just coexist. Fortunately, they are cuddly with my husband and I. Although Jack totally favors my husband! Sometimes I feel like asking them if they need some time alone! π I admit I am a little jealous.
I'm so glad that Ali Cat and Bossy are doing well. I'm sure they give you a lot of joy. And it's great that the two of them have reached a mostly-peaceful state of coexistence! It's also nice that they match. π I find it funny that the age gap is the same as you and your brother. And nice that you know what their birthdays and astrological signs are.
I hope you are doing well, too! I'm having a rather trying relapse after having had Covid two months ago; my neuro assures me that when the Covid clears my system, I will feel a lot better. It's interesting how times slows down when you're sick!
I wish you a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving, as well. π¦
So sorry to hear that you're still dealing with the remnants of Covid? Is your husband feeling any better? I hope that it doesn't linger much longer.
Blessings to you and yours. Happy Thanksgiving! π¦π€ππππ€π½
Thank you, Donna. I just realized that I replied, but not directly to you, so you wouldn't have seen it. I don't have any Covid symptoms, just a pseudo relapse as a result of having had Covid. I'm quite frustrated because my neck muscles are so tight that they're making me dizzy, so I can't spend much time on my phone or reading. Otherwise, I get dizzy again. What is one to do during a relapse if not read? I'm trying an audio book, but my brain doesn't seem to be wired that way, at least not yet. π
We got sick in September, and my hubby felt completely better after ten days. π Thank you for asking! β€οΈ
Thanks, Donna, I don't have any Covid symptoms, thankfully, it's just that having Covid back in September my MS angry. Maybe it's more of a pseudo relapse, since my doctor says I don't need any steroids or anything. I'm just really frustrated because my neck muscles (which are always a challenge) have gotten so tight that I'm getting dizzy and getting headaches. Looking at my phone, or a book, really makes it worse. I'm really looking forward to that getting better!
My hubby had worse symptoms than I did, but he was vaccinated and had Paxlovid early on (we both did) so it wasn't too bad. He was almost back to normal after about ten days, and he's fine now. π
You know about my struggle with Covid, CatsandCars. I ended up back in the hospital and they gave me a 5 day course of IVIG. As a result, my cough is gone. The dizziness is gone. The shortness of breath is gone and I donβt need to use a walker. I wonder if you would benefit from IVIG. That should get rid of any lingering covid virus. I hope youβre symptoms improve soon. π€
Wow, that is great news, RomCom87! I'm so happy for you! π₯³
I'm so sorry you ended up in the hospital again, but how wonderful that it led to a miracle treatment. Forgive me for not remembering, but were you on Ocrevus when you got it? Just asking because that sometimes causes the low immunoglobulins that can result in scary infections. And giving you immunoglobulin did the trick! I don't hear of too many people getting those IVIG infusions, but I'm so glad that it worked. β€οΈ
I will certainly ask my doctor about it if things go on for too long, although I am nowhere near as sick as you were and not having Covid symptoms.
Hearing that news really made my day! π
Reminds me of a saying and it goes like this, βif you want the best seat in the house, you will need to move the cat(s)β. π
