Electric Wheelchairs
I've got one from MobilityPlus. It's really handy if I need to go somewhere and my husband isn't there to push me when I'm in my manual ๐
I helped a friend w/MS research and purchase this wheelchair. This was her second electric wheelchair. It was great,
Quantum Edge 2.0
Deer Planet Only 30 pounds! Great Chair
I have the Quickie chair and it is amazing. It lifts so you can reach the top shelf. It weighs a lot like 400 or 500lbs. However it is an amazing chair. Whenever I needed help because I unplugged some of the connections on accident they came and fixed it. Now it works perfectly.
hi I like my Permobil M3 (350 lbs) and Travel Buggy Aerolux (29 lbs)
I've been working with Marc's Mobility. They have a large selection and price range on gently used powerchairs. They have a website and phone number.
Caution: Transporting a wheelchair is not easy. The weight alone makes it impossible to be transported by some vehicles - chair is too heavy, car bumper is too low, etc. The COST of having some vehicles adapted for transporting a wheelchair is unbelievably expensive. This inability to transport the chair limits where you can go with your chair - just your neighborhood or everywhere. Inform yourself before making a purchase.
GoGo are inexpensive and brakes down into 4 pieces and makes it easy to put in trunk or back of vehicle. They have 3 and 4 wheel types. Easy to use in the house and events ๐๐ผ Hope this helps ๐๐
I AM AS WELL. WHEN I SEARCH THEY GIVE ME GRANTS FOR DISABILITY, MS SOCIETY AND RESOURCES NEAR WITH MEDICAL EQUIPMENT. I ALSO JOINED A SPINAL CORD INJURY SUPPORT GROUP AND THEY PROVIDE AS WELL. ALSO GOOD WILL AND OTHERS HAVE USED DONATION. I AM ALWAYS SEARCHING SO I WILL LET YOU KNOW. BE WELL!
My husband has a Quantum Edge 2.0. The thing is a monster. It sat in our bedroom for years until just recently when I could no longer transfer him from his scooter to the car (we even had a swing out car seat that dropped to chair height). Now we use our overhead lift to transfer him from scooter to wheelchair and use the wheelchair in a recently purchased used van with a ramp. One thing we learned is the advantage of having a monster chair is that it has the attachment points for the car restraints - very important. Most of the lightweight, inexpensive, maneuverable electric wheelchairs do not have these nor do they have headrests, making them unsafe for using as a seat in a car. Use a scooter as long as you can transfer - it's much easier to load in a car and the controls are easier than a joystick. We have a 3 wheel GoGo Elite Travel Scooter by Pride.
