Do you need an emergency medical ID? There are a lot of them out there, from simple dog tags at GetMyID.com, to new items with a QR code that can be scanned by emergency medical personnel. It will take them to a profile where you've entered all your pertinent medical info, and you can uodate the profile without having to change a piece of jewelry. There are also wallet cards that can be scanned to view your medical history (GetMyID.com has those, also). You do have to pay $30 a year to maintain your profile, but MyId will give you a free ID if you buy a yearly plan.
I recently learned about Lauren's Hope from others here. They're more of a high-end site, but they have some very stylish/pretty engraved options for men and women, and they're having a sale if anyone is interested.
Before MS took away my being able to ride my bicycle, I wore and still wear a bracelet I ordered from “Road ID” and never had to have it used until just recently, I was feeling really weird & had hubby take me to ER.. Long story short, nursing trainee noticed the Red Emergency band and in front of the other nurses she’d called the emergency phone # & started asking me which meds I might still be on. The other nurses were very interested and said they’d be recommend Bracelets, etc. Even my husband was surprised I always recommend ER bracelets or others.
I've become kind of fascinated with the wide variety of emergency medical IDs that are available now! I like that there are the new items with a QR code that can be scanned with a cell phone to give access to your medical history, meds, etc. My son is healthy, but he does a lot of hiking and mountaineering, so I forwarded the link to him. Thanks for sharing that info.
Here's the website for Road ID, if anyone's interested in checking it out:
