When I grew up I thought this was normal π€ͺ Dad didnβt buy hamburger and hotdog π buns so this was our normal. I still do it today as buns would be a waste for me. Have a great Sunday ππΌππ

Yes! And that's also why I don't eat ketchup on my hot dogs. It soaked through the bread too quickly, so I've avoided it ever since, even though logic says that it would be fine on buns.
Since I am gluten intolerant, I skip the bread these days, Kenu , but I do remember. Going to a burger joint was such a treat as I had a burger with a real bun! π
We didn't eat hot dogs very often but when we did have them cooked they were served on a slice of bread. Otherwise we ate them frozen as a snack in the summertimeπ€£

π€£ yep! It's a good way of using bread up before it gets stale. There's only me and my husband in our home, and he's often the only one to get a sandwich every day for his lunch, whereas I often don't have the appetite to even have toast! I don't even have an appetite for breakfast most days, and I really had to force myself to at least eat a breakfast bar when I was titrating off steroids π
Yep, I guess we were poor, we only had buns at picnics and cookouts. π
we only got hotdog and hamburger buns when we were having a family cookout with guests and my mom bought a 6 pack of coke cola 1x a week and we only got 1 bottle each and my dad got 2 you could drink it the day she bought it or wait unti later in the wh ole week
Most buns are to thick! I've been known to chop part of the bun off to make them thinner.
I had celiac so I didn't get buns
