When I get too down on myself, I try to think about George Bailey. I've actually had a couple times in my life when people I didn't know from Adam would walk up to me and say that I'd interacted with them years ago and they've always been grateful that I did [fill in the blank]. We really don't know how our actions affect other people. Sometimes we matter in ways we never realize. Many times, it's the passing encounters that mean the most.
