Our dog is a little hard of hearing these days. When he was a pup I taught him hand signals which are really paying off now.

I am sure your dog can learn them also.

I rescued a dog once who looked very much like your beauty. Henry was a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix (vets thought maybe Great Dane), honey colored and with those soulful eyes. When he began to have back problems, we discovered that he carried a bullet...which explained his fear of guns (sight or sound) and the terrible scars on his back legs. The vets and I theorized that he had become entangled in a barbed wire fence or something similar. He carried no grudges and had the soul of saint. I miss him still.
