Beautiful. I actually made one similar about 50 years ago. I used to crochet a lot - something MS stole from me. Can’t believe I gave all my Afghans away and didn’t keep one for myself cause never thought I wouldn’t be able to crochet one day.

Thank you. Sorry that you can't do it anymore and that you didn't keep a treasure for yourself. I hope that I will be able to keep doing my craft a long time. I started teaching myself at 10 years old I am 62 now.

Wow. That was young. I started when I was pregnant with child at 25, loved it. I do have a table runner, two stoles, (not shawls, I made some very intricate shawls for friends and some cabled sweaters and baby blankets, and the Afghans), and

Most of my patterns are simple. I don't do clothes very well so I stay away from that. But I love making big blankets

I had several books of patterns and magazines. I remember one magazine of all granny square pattern stuff. Another of all household items. When I was a stay at home mom. Before MS got worse and arm muscle spasms and hand arthritis. But I have enjoyed a lot of things when I could. I liked the shell pattern, also. That is my table runner. Maybe I will dig out my stole with the “knit” stick and then a big flower cross stitched in the middle. It’s heavy and warm. And take a picture

I would love to see it. I have so many patterns in a folder and saved on my phone I don't think I could get to making all of them unless I lived to be well over a hundred or more

my brain could in no way follow a pattern now or even count my stitches of a beginning cable or whatever. I loved hairpin lace!

Turtlepie profile image
Turtlepie in reply toagapepilgrim

I would love to do a cable or hairpin lace. I try more difficult patterns just to try and keep my mind sharp. I find that if the pattern is one I like I don't have to worry about counting

I am all amazed at the talents that are in others...My goodness beautiful!I couldn't even count the stitches, left to right right to left...I see it on such a lovely princess in prayer...ty!

Turtlepie profile image
Turtlepie in reply tojackiesj

Thank you what a wonderful way to put it. Once I start a pattern I have to keep track of the stitches but once I get into it I don't count anymore. I love my craft and I a blessed beyond what ever I could have ever imagined and maybe that's why it comes so easy with some of the work I do

Turtlepie profile image
