until it was pointed out to me the other day,I never realized that leap year is the same year as the presidential election.never put the 2 together

I never put that together either! Hmmmm..... 1 extra days for stupid election ads. Not a good thing.

Buuuuuut - a leap year is not every four years without fail - there are some years which if you count by adding four years to every leap year are not actually leap years. For example, the year 2100 will not be a leap year.

How to Calculate Leap Years

The year can be evenly divided by 4;

If the year can be evenly divided by 100, it is NOT a leap year, unless;

The year is also evenly divisible by 400. Then it is a leap year.

(That's just to confuse everyone, but I don't think any of us will be around in 2100 to have to worry about it :) )
