Just a reminder of an online educational event we are hosting with Dr. Annette Howard, who some of you may remember as our Ask The Expert guest last month here on our My MSAA Community.

Below are the details about registering online for this free webinar, and I hope whoever is interested can attend!

The prevalence of multiple sclerosis in women is two to three times higher than in men, and research suggests that the proportion of women with MS is increasing even more. As MS affects most women during the prime of their lives, issues relating to reproductive health, careers, family responsibilities, and other aspects all play significant roles in learning how to successfully manage living with multiple sclerosis.

Recognizing the need to explore further this critically important topic, MSAA recently partnered with expert neurologist Annette Howard, MD to conduct a national online survey on Women and MS. With more than 1,600 survey responses tabulated, MSAA invites you to learn about these insightful findings by registering for the Women Living with MS Webinar on Tuesday September 17, 2019 at 7:00 PM Eastern. During this live, one-hour program, Dr. Howard will discuss key survey results and explore the latest research on:

• Prominent symptoms affecting women

• Therapy options for – and the latest research on – women with MS

• Psycho-social impact of diagnosis and its effect on the family dynamic

• Menopause and MS

• Sexual dysfunction and MS

• Overall wellness strategies

Following the presentation, participants are encouraged to ask their questions to Dr. Howard via a live chat feature on the webinar platform. Funding for the Women and MS initiative which includes the online survey and webinar is made possible through an educational grant by EMD Serono.
