MS Attacks getting, less severe?

Ive been getting about one relapse a year, but my recent relapse was so soft it cured itself without treatment. It was much softer than my previous relapse, and that relapse was much softer than the one before it!

My eyes simply felt weird for a week, but i only had double vision for a couple of days, and now im feeling much better.

My previous relapse was around this time last year.

I'm curious as a MS newbie, what do you do to treat a relapse? I used to ask for IV steroids and it would immediately help but, the recovering from the steroids became problematic (gut Flora not a fan of steroids). Curious what others have found and keep in their bag of tricks.

Glad you overcame your latest flare!

Julie,

I have not heard of anything outside of the steriods which does not cure an exacerbation but gives relief by reducing the swelling that is currently causing the exacerbation.

I'm sure there are others out there that have different thoughts of treatment of an exacerbation.

I'm curious of what those are.

My current Doctor isn't a advocate of steroids and I mostly have to ride them out.

Honestly im still a bit at a loss at what do to when i flare up. Do i work against the symptoms to work it out? Or do i do my best to rest it off?

In the end i think it is a combination of my MS meds working for me, and other neuro-protective measures. Prevention is the key.
