Hello StemSearcher63, it's Fancy1959. First and foremost I want to welcome you to this awesome chat room where you will find a safe place to come and ask questions, voice concerns, or simply speak to others who truly understand what you are going through. This chat room is full of some of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. By sharing are common experiences with each other we both will learn about this dreaded monster from each other.
Now for your question about looking for a clean and reputable place to have stem cells administered. Please understand we are not doctors and we do not offer medical advice. For this type of information you would have to work through a reputable neurologist to be truly safe. In my own instance I know my own top-notch neurologist did not recommend at this time my looking into stem cell replacement. He said the research was too new, the risk was too high, and the procedure was too expensive without any type of guarantee that it would work whatsoever. He suggested that I wait several years and allow the research to continue until it became more mainstream and offered proven results and guarantees. I know I personally do not have $50,000 or more to throw away at a procedure that is in the basic trial phase without proven, safe, and consistent results. I wish I had more information to share with you but once again we are not doctors and we do not attempt to act as if we are. Until we speak again please take care of yourself. If you need any questions answered about your MS or the path your MS is traveling down please feel free to contact us we, were always just a post away. Fancy.
Just wanted to add that true stem cell treatments are just entering into a phase 2 clinical trial in the United States. It has not been approved by the FDA and it may be some years before it's legal in the US. As far as recommendations, you'd have to take your chances going out of the United States. I've heard there are facilities in Japan, Mexico and Europe. Even if you are accepted, it is a very serious procedure and very expensive. Not covered by any health insurances.
