I have a friend who has neuropathy & fibromyalgia and uses a vibration machine to help alleviate the symptoms and pain. She says it helps. Does anyone have any experience with one of these machines with respect to managing or aleviating MS symptoms? I found this article from an Ausie website extolling the benefits but wonder if this is all hype or does it help...
I have a massaging cushion which some people would consider a vibration cushion I suppose. It also has heat. I have one that fits my desk chair and will massage from neck to hips and also heat if I am cold. I have one that fits my seat in the car that plugs into cigarette lighter and also massages/vibrates from shoulders to hips (really helps sciatic nerve and back spasms). for Christmas, my husband bought one from Walmart that fits my recliner and is as long as entire body, from neck to feet, and vibrates/massages 2 strengths and also gentle heat if it is cool in the house. Usually I can't take the heat except lately it's been down to 65 in the house and I used the heat. Yes, they reduce pain about 50% in back and shoulders and calves of legs. I have used them for about 30 years, first started for car travel and sciatic hip and buttock pain. Also have a small one about the size of heating pad I can put just around my shoulders. Also have one the size of a lumbar pillow, and another the size of a curved neck pillow. Those two run off batteries. They all relax my muscles, partially, depending on severity.
