Second opinions

Okay I have had swollen feet over a year now. They blew out a couple months ago when I had the worst episode ever. I can't drive or hardly walk anymore because of my feet swelling again and again and again!! I'm sooo frustrated with my primary doctor and now she is wanting me to see the neurologist for it. At the last visit with neurologist he said it was up to the primary doctor. I'm being tossed around. It's a big bummer because I have ptsd and learning how to be assertive and not submissive. I'm sorry to post again today but I literally don't know how to handle getting a second opinion. I never want to upset anyone. Any suggestions or support with this situation??

doveflyfree i think that you need to think about yourself and get your swollen feet sorted. Something is wrong, don't worry about upsetting the medical profession, your not being rude, you just need answers. Keep trying, as SueAB says, never give up, keep us posted, blessings Jimeka 🙏

You should look at your medicines to see if one of them are causing your feet to swell or even as your pharmacist. Doesn’t help to ask.

ssdw1958 is right, often it can be due to meds.

I hate it when my doctors bounce me around like that! I’d tell your primary Dr that they either need to address it or refer you to a Dr who will...and the neurologist is obviously not the one. Maybe a vascular Dr?

doveflyfree A new neurologist sounds like a good idea too!! like someone suggested, maybe talk to a pharmacist, maybe it's a medication? or maybe ask to be seen by a vascular Dr since your MD doesn't know what the heck is going on and just wants to refer you back to your neuro who doesn't know what's going on. Been going on for waaay to long. Keep us updated.

I have horribly swollen feet and ankles, MOST of the time. I was checked to make sure the blood was flowing freely to my extremities and it was. I'm going to have them check my heart which is what google says. The one thing I will say is that now that I have my constipation under control I have much, much less swelling.

Not what you're looking for?
