Hi everyone. I have fibro and osteoarthritis. My question is. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on how to make my back more supported while sitting on the sofa for more than an hour? The pillows and cushions I have tried do not help. I also bought a backrest you would use on a desk chair. I returned it. It was of no real use.
I wish all my fibro friends the best. 💕

Hi Jaden, I have fibro and osteoarthritis; the arthritis is all over now, but it began in my spine. I can't sit on a sofa comfortably either. If I sit, I use a straight-backed upright chair, or my wheelchair. But over the years , I have found it's best not to sit for long periods of time. I know it seems counter-intuitive, but the very best thing to do is to keep moving. I don't sit for more than 30 mins at a time, and if I need to rest, I find a short lie down is better than sitting. Wishing you some relief. 🙂
Sitting as upright as possible with lumbar support, and trying to get up during commercials, even just to walk around for a bit, helps. Setting a timer on your phone every half hour to remind you to get up can help too (especially when you are engrossed in a great movie!)
Thank you for your advice. Do you suggest any type of lumbar support to put on sofa? Do you use something you bought. Rather than just the sofa cushions? Thanks!💕
