One consultant has proposed more radical surgery than the other how long is a safe time to wait before deciding on type of surgery?

I had an oestrogen positive breast tumour and took tamoxifen for 6 months to try to reduce the size of it in order to have minimal surgery. Unfortunately the lump only shrank a little bit and I have to have a quarter of my breast removed with reconstruction using muscle from my back. The treatment with tamoxifen was still considered successful as the cancer did not grow and did shrink but not fast enough. They told me that in some cases tumours shrink by half using tamoxifen. I was told that 6 months was the most they would give the tamoxifen to shrink the cancer before surgery. I hope that you have a faster result with the tamoxifen than I did and wish you all the best possible results.
