Just been diagnosed with MSA after 5 stays in hospital.Given no medication but told to wear elasticated stockings.

That seems negligent. They do help me though without other treatment would be useless.

Hi. I’m sorry that you have been presented with this diagnosis. Welcome to the forum.

They are a huge source of support and information and definitely a first port of call. There are numerous fact sheets about many symptoms and a specialist nurse who will cover your area.

There are no medications to treat MSA itself, only ones which help the symptoms that you personally are experiencing, which will be different than others have, it’s a pick and mix type of disease, you have some symptoms but not others.

The stockings can be helpful in dealing with some of the blood pressure symptoms. My husband wore them for a long time. But drinking enough and other things are useful as well.

Thankyou it hit me all of a sudden.One day perfectly fit then he next I had the beast.The hospital diagnosed Parkinson's for the first couple of months then one night I had a fit just after midnight in bed so hospitalised the next day the the diagnosis changed afera few MRI scans
