Ms fatigue and family occasions

I am 83 and have progressive MS. Like us all, I have exhausting fatigue. Our kids live overseas so when they come to see us, it is intense. We have three families coming in July overlapping (school holidays). They will stay outside the house. Their plans change daily and each time adds more to the overall load.

Does anyone else find the social intensity overwhelming? I feel so sad that my first feeling is overwhelm as to how I will get through it and I don't want to spoil their chance of seeing us and each other. What sort of mother feels

Generally, do any of you find the energy intensity of social interaction very exhausting? I can do a short time and enjoy it, but then need to recoup. My first reaction, sadly, tends to be the burden rather than anticipation.

Many thanks, Jane

hi. I wish you the best and a relaxing fun time!

I do know what you mean. It is nice to see family. My dad is coming in a few weeks. I am hoping now that finally on my DMT I can enjoy more time with him. But with what we have going on we just need to focus on enjoying the time we do spend with them. Sure we’d like to be normal, but we’re not, we’re special !

Bless you! I feel such guilt because it isn’t the domestic load I fear, but the interaction, I get xhausted very quickly from people.

don’t feel guilty! It isn’t is who should feel guilty - it’s whoever doesn’t understand!
