Prednisolone and Weighted Blankets?

Hello, I am on a course of 65mg of prednisolone for a suspected MS flare up. It’s my first time taking steroids, and I’m struggling with sleep!

I have a weighted blanket which helps normally, but according to google this is because weighted blankets ‘reduce the amount of cortisol produced.’ I assume I’m on steroids to increase the amount of cortisol, so would using this blanket while taking them be a bad idea?

Any ideas?

Prednisolon will help you to overcome the MS relapse quicker. I was prescribed it in 2019. It did help. I was still pretty active. It is important to exercise bit by bit when you can. The recovery is slow.... 6 months. Sadly I spent 6 weeks in bed because of the crashed femur. Again, got up and tried to walk, exercise, etc. It is important to keep moving. My life is focused on fighting this disgusting and debilitating monster, but what an we do? Now I can barely walk with with the stick... But it's better than a wheelchair.... Good luck! xxx

i've taken steroids for suspected relapses quite a few times. my main issue is to make sure you pay attention to other parts of your body while taking them. i probably had a predisposition for this (not trying to be an alarmist) as my dad needed hip replacement and actually had 2 rounds of knee replacements, but i did experience intense bone pain while on steroids...

a few years ago i had to have a hip replacement due to steroid-induced avascular necrosis. i was due for the other hip, but covid struck. i'm in my 30's btw.

i hope the steroids help.
