Has anyone developed chemical sensitivity or severe food allergy since taking hydroxicarbamide?

Hello LouisePRV,

I am not sure but when I drink anything and I mean anything, first thing in the morning or after a few hours without any food or drink, I sneeze at least 6-10 times. Not sure how and if it is connected but it started after I was put on medication for E.T..??It is not severe or so, just inconvenient and unpleasant.

Hi I used to be on hydroxicarbimide and had to come off it as gave me severe acid reflux which would become like panic attacks ie felt like couldn't breath in middle of night and felt like throat burning and often would feel itchy in eyes/nasal passages I had been on these drugs for about 5 years when this started - as soon as stopped taking have been fine and not had attack since and it took me over a year to persuade my consultant to take me off it and on to interferon - am now on Pegasys. Everyone acts differently to meds as know people on hydroxicarbimide who are fine! I did a diary of when took tablets and what I ate and drank in the day to monitor if it coincided with anything! Am not sure how high your bloods are but wonder whether you cn request a break to see if you feel any better? Hope this has helped and happy to help further if needed

Take care and hope you get sorted soon!!

Hi I too have developed sneezes and hayfever type symptomsDid ben have the key? since starting on HU 2 months ago. I queried the specialist about this and he said it wont b from the meds. I have never had these sympyoms before taking HU. Im sure it is to do with the meds.
