Intake dosis interval

I am tapering JAKAVI down for GVHD (2x5mg)

Is it important to take the medication each 12 hours? If I take the morning dose at 9 am and the evening dose at 7 pm for instance?

That’s about the same as I do with mine,4 years now no problems,sometimes an hour out of routine .Good Luck.

as always best to check with your Haem, I am on Rux about 7 years and try to stick to 12 hours but I doubt being a hour or two away from 12 hours makes much difference

The half-life of Jakavi ranges from 3 - 6 hours based on individual metabolism. While there is some flexibility in timing with a bid dose, it would be best to check with your MPN care team about how much flexibility you have based on your profile.

Thanks! I also was thinking on how to take because I start again part time working. For my profession I need to travel. 👍

This I do. But I had a stomach bleeding in 2010. I always afraid taking drugs without food. I always eat before.

Hi

Like you I take all my meds with food to avoid stomach issues.

I found it helpful to carry some crackers or a slice of bread with me

for when I have to take a med between meals.
