Yes, I experience the same simptom when exercise or exhaust. Has check the lymphatic nodules, thyroid etc. All just fine.

I suspect it is related to deficiency vit. B12

Doc just advice to take paracetamol.

Cheers

yes I have as well. Neck CT and ultrasound all came back normal. GP thought it may be GORD related, and started me on Pantaprozole and issue has all but gone now

Thank you. I will look up GORD, I’ve not heard of it.

Hello, MichYou're not giving us a lot to go on here, so this is a fairly general reply.

Remember that flu-type symptoms are a common side effect with Peg. General malaise, with throat and gland discomfort, maybe affecting the lungs, would be typical. I kept that at bay with Vitamin C 1000. I usually took a couple of capsules a few times a day but increased this at the first sign of ..... well of pretty much anything really. Stuffy, sinussy head, wheeziness, chest pain. That usually sorted it out quite quickly. In fact that's still how I start when anything arises, even tho I've been off all meds since January last year.

And of course water. I'm always banging on about that. However much you are drinking, if you're getting these symptoms, and especially if you also notice maybe stuff like dry eyes, dry mouth, dry skin, then your own body needs more water than you're currently drinking. Maybe a lot more.

If that doesn't help, then you'll need to talk to us about frequency, dosage, how long you've been on Peg, other conditions and so on. And diet of course. The general concensus here is avoid refined, processed junk food and go for organic quality produce. If you're not veggie or vegan, then the very highest quality meat and fish.

I caught the tail end of a discussion on one of these weekend food shows recently, saying that if your animals are happy, looked after well, free of antibiotics and fed only the best, then their meat tastes better. That may well be.

Thank you. I am a pescatarian and eat & drink well. It’s difficult for me to explain my issues and the way I’m feeling but it’s not flu like. I appreciate your reply :)

Hello Mich10, I have a Jak2 blood mutation on Hydrea 3 tabs daily.I experience the lump in my throat a few times a week.

I also get a burning pain when swallowing "very strange"

I try to take prilosec every morning and it seems to help with the problem.

Its something to try no need for a prescription.

Good luck!

depends on what you mean breathing changes. If it’s a significant change be careful as there can be lung issues associated with interferon that will need to be looked at and you may have stop. It’s very rare but just be on the lookout as you will want to tell your dr.

thank you. Consultant is aware and I’m being monitored.

Yes, I recently started Peg, and have the throat weirdness too. Affects my swallowing. Not really flu-like for me either, but maybe that's just how it has been described by others. I have no solutions for you yet!

Hi Mich 10,I have been on just 45 interferon once a month for around 2 years to keep platelets down within accepted range

They were 1000 plus.

In the last month I have developed a strange sore throat when I walk hard especially up hills and a restricted breathing in my upper chest. Very strange symptoms can't describe accurately as different to cold. I thought it may be a virus. I have good blood pressure and ecg was normal, waiting for chest xray results. Am now thinking this could be the interferon.

Thanks for posting. I will bring up with the consultant

thank you for replying! The consultants aren’t convinced that it is Peg but my bet is that it is. It is indeed a strange feeling and difficult to describe. I’m on a 2 week break from peg to see if symptoms subside. When are you seeing your consultant?
