Hi friends

Anyone with experience with Angrelide, how quickly did you see PLT count decrease? Did you observe PLT decline in a matter of days, or weeks, or months? What was that rate (eg, 100 / week drop)?

Me: CALR Type 1, on aspirin only

Many thanks for any insights!

Hello easy2211. Having been diagnosed in 2020, & spent unpleasant time with bouts of illness along the way. After recent hospital admission at Christmas was taken off hydroxy, due to becoming too anaemic, & requiring blood transfusions too often & put on Anagrelide with one oepotin injection a week to boost red blood cells. Within 10 weeks of this change, at my appointment 2 weeks ago, for 1st time ever since diagnosis, my counts are where they want them to be, & I feel normal now, without the effects of chemo, though I do appreciate it,s necessary when needed. Wishing you all the best.

Hi, In my case platelets started dropping from the first blood tests after 1 week on one pill morning and night. Then dropped too much, reduce to one pill, then too high, back on two pills. As far as I remember, things were pretty good within a month or two.

I did have scary side effects at first, violent headache for a couple of days and then heart palpitations for about a month. After that everything was fine. Just be aware that you may need a couple of days off work after you start and that many people don't tolerate anagrelide as well as I did.

Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone for sharing your experience. I started 2 weeks ago but no substantial drop in plt count seen so far. Hopefully, next 2 weeks will be better.... Cheers
