Myeloproliferative or Myelodysplastic: Which Term Is Correct?
Ok, starting to understand the information.Thank you for posting this Hunter I've sent a link for my sister to.read
Yes, I have the see-saw. Myelodysplastic syndrome, where my haemaglobin contains cells that do not mature properly, are deformed, and therefore do not carry as much oxygen to the organs as is required and Myeloproliferative disorder, where my platelets are too many in number and have a tendency to make sticky blood, leading to clotting.
Luckily for me, it is a seesaw suitable only for toddlers, though the haemaglobin is a little on the "heavier" side. Each condition is rare. There is no reason I have both conditions, making it rarer, and I am triple negative - rarer still. I am at least lucky to have lived so far until my 80th birthday.
Thanks for posting this Hunter. Very clearly written and well worth keeping for future reference John
