In addition to my ET (diagnosed in 2003 and now well controlled on Pegasys) I’ve recently been diagnosed with Monoclonal B-Cell Lymphocytosis (MBL).
This appears to be a relatively benign condition, more common as you get older, where the body produces too many B-lymphocytes and although it can be a precursor to Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia, in most cases it isn’t! 🤞
Just wondering if anyone else in this community also has MBL alongside their MPN and what their experience to date has been?
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy: I’ve had MBL (Occasionally CLL, depending on local criteria for the boundary) alongside mylofibrosis since my initial diagnosis - the only difficulty I’ve had is that it’s made me ineligible for various clinical trials.
Thanks Rachel - that’s reassuring to hear. The boundary between MBL and CLL does seem quite fluid and definitely worth regular monitoring, though hopefully CLL is manageable too.
Interesting point re clinical trials - I’m already ineligible for some due to interferon treatment and it sounds like MBL’s going to narrow things even further now!
