hi. I’ve had ET (jak2+) for 18 years. Only on aspirin(for now)

Recently, I’ve developed patches of redness on my face. The skin feel rough, but there isn’t any itchiness or pain.

my lips also feel tight and rough around the edges.

I have not changed my skin care products or washing powders.

feeling bit miserable.

Any thoughts or suggestions, please.

While you can get facial flushing with MPNs, this does not sound like that. We do sometimes have symptoms not related to our MPNs. It sounds like it is bothersome enough to consult with a dermatologist. Suggest doing so before it progresses.

just wondering if HRT might help.

All the best

hi Joetcalr, I’m interested about why you suggest HRT. However, I’m not sure it would be prescribed for me as I had menopause 14 years ago. I was on HRT 15 years ago, but had to (suddenly!😳) stop taking it in order to have hip replacement surgery. I didn’t really need to resume it then.

The blotches are not ‘flush’ induced. Thank you for your suggestion. Always worth a mention at the doctors

hello

I am ET jak2 positive and take Hydroxycarbamide and have had skin changes since taking this medication. It’s a lot drier and get raised patches of dryness with no itch

We are all different however my experience has required me to change my skin care. My skin is a lot dryer and I have had to purchase moisture creams which I never used before taking Hydroxycarbamide

With regards your lips this is a sign of dehydration. I drink a minimum of 2 litres of water a day.
