Hi and good afternoon. Does anybody have any experience/knowledge/ know of any research in relation to lowering platelets especially with acupuncture? I had acupuncture in the past to help with pain and fatigue etc but that was not ET related.

Sounds to me, like so many holistic therapies, it s not necessarily to lower platelets, but will be beneficial.
The hunt continues I suspect to find a natural treatment . I live in hope !!!!
I personally had quite a few months of acupuncture last summer and fall, hoping to help with platelets, headaches and eventually with the diagnosis of PV/ET. My platelet and hematocrit count did not go down. Another acupuncturist, a friend, looked at the Chinese herbs diagnosed by my acupuncturist, though, and said that the Evergreen Circulation formula would be great help in keeping strokes and clots at bay. My acupuncturist, to be truthful, believed that practicing Qi Gong would be of most help to me, and it is, but so far has not altered counts. I do believe the mind/body/breath control is helping keep me safe. I use it when I feel dizzy or fatigued. My (second opinion) doctor at the Mayo Clinic was not worried about me taking these herbs while pursuing western pharmaceutical solutions, but my local doctor does not approve of herbs and supplements he does not have training in. I have compromised by taking a third of the dose. It is awkward to be caught between two medical systems, but I truthfully don't believe that either has the whole story. Best of luck to you!
I have used acupuncture (and Chinese herbs) for various issues over the years from a very respected practitioner and I asked about this when I received my diagnosis a few years ago. He said that acupuncture could help with any associated symptoms but not with the platelet count and to stick with Western medicine for that.
I have acupuncture sessions for other issues, so it’s not really “targeting” platelets, but I’m inclined to side with Hat3’s comment or else my very capable and respected acupuncturist would certainly have raised the possibility that sessions could be considered for the platelets…
Not acupuncture but I started reflexology last October to try & combat some of the fatigue & have found it very beneficial to the way I feel.
I have recently had bloods done & note it’s has no effect on lowering my platelets or improving any of the other blood results but I have felt much better in myself for it.
I haven’t been able to go for a month & am back to feeling exhausted, next appt this Sat.
I did have trouble finding an alternative therapist that was happy to treat me with an MPN, current lady is a retired RGN so is perfect
ET is a blood disorder hence any outside interventions will not affect the platelet count. There may be lots of benefits to acupuncture but it will not lower the count.
I have acupuncture regularly for a sport injury. It has no effect in platelets whatsoever, neither does special diets etc only inflammation is helped with Mediterranean diet 👍 Julia
I would have to second look other people said. I used to get Acupuncture, and when I asked my acupuncturist if she could help lower my platelets, she said that Acupuncture could not do that. It definitely can help with other symptoms. I have found natural modalities that help with symptoms, but none to reduce my platelets. I wish you the very best
Interesting to read others thoughts on unsuccessful efforts to lower platelets naturally. So far no one has really had success.
It takes us all different amount of time to make this 'un concluded conclusion ' .
That doesn't mean we can't move forward with enthusiasm with the elusive search for something that may work does it !!!! ?
There is a saying

I will add
