My platelets used to fluctuate by 200 from time to time. They became much more stable after more time on Pegasys (later switched to Besremi). It took about 8 weeks to reach stability at goal on Pegasys. My platelets were in the 700 at the time. I would expect for the PEG to take longer than 4 weeks, particularly at 45mcg.

Given that your WBC has also risen, I would wonder if there is some kind if infection going on, possibly causing reactive thrombocytosis. That is just one of the possibilities that should be reviewed with your care team. Suggest that you contact your care team ASAP and see what they have to say about what may be going on.

Please do let us know how you get on.

Thanks Hunter. I spoke to my Haemotoligy Nurse and she didn't say anything about WBC. I am going to try and get appointment for my doctor as I need to sort a few things out. Hope you have a good day

it’s awful when your platelets rise isn’t it.

Try and say to yourself where would your platelets be without the medication. You are on a low dose of Peg. Try and give yourself time . Good luck

It can take sometime for peg to work, certainly longer than 2 weeks. As others have said raised white count usually indicates an infectio. As negative post we have all been there, hopefully thinks will settle down quickly.
