List of MPN Specialists UK

having recently joined and read through a whole host of the posts on hear I realise that seeing anMPN specialist would be good. What I can'tfind is a list of UK specialists. Does this exist?

Hi Doug. The list linked above does show some of the MPN specialists in the UK but what I would say is that it doesn’t list them all. I would suggest that you ask your haematologist what their experience is with treating MPN patients (but remember that these are rare conditions, so the number may not be that high).

If you are being treated at a large regional hospital, chances are that you will find that one of the haematologist will either have an interest in MPN and more experience of treatment or will actually be a specialist in MPN.

I am treated at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield and they have a professor (head of haematology) 2 consultants who have a lot of interest and experience in treating MPN and a number of junior doctors who are also quite familiar with this condition.

If you are not attending a large regional hospital then I would suggest that you ask to be referred to one of the specialists on the list or to your closest large city/ regional hospital where you will more likely find a consultant with more experience in treating MPN’s

HelloIf you go to MPN Voice they have a list there. Along with lots of other information.
