Hello! I should like to know the meaning of the term “allele burden” and its significance to a diagnosis of CAL-R positive ET. Does the term mean:

(1) percentage of mutation and how is this established

(2) a newly discovered red planet or

(3) a ballroom dance routine

i would like to see a ballroom dance based on the genome. It would be very interesting. Rather complex steps though.

Mutant Allele Burden (AKA Variant Allele Frequency) is indeed the percentage of Hemopoietic Stem Cells that carry the mutation vs the HSCs that are Wild-Type (normal). The allele burden does have significance in terms of disease status.

I do hope we find a new red planet. It could replace Pluto since Pluto lost its status as a planet.
