Hi everyone. I have only recently joined this forum. I was diagnosed with ET in 2004 and have been on aspirin and HU since the beginning with varying doses of HU plus Peg for the last few years. Platelets are up and down and side effects not great when doses are changed. Suffering periods of mouth ulcers over recent months. All my bloods are fine apart from haemaglobin levels. Spleen is fine too. I recently asked my consultant if it is ok to take CBD oil with the meds and she didn’t know. I think perhaps it was more not approving but who knows! Does anyone know if it is ok to take CBD with HU and Peg and if it helps? Also does anyone on the forum live in Jersey?

I run this sort of question by my Integrative Medicine doctor. Many docs are really not knowledgeable about supplement-medication interactions. Understandably they are reluctant to approve of something when they are not sure. Suggest asking a medical professional familiar with complementary health approaches.

Hi. There are treatments for mouth sores. First, try to be sure you’ve just had water before putting the pill in your mouth then swallow it quickly with water and drink some more water to get any residue out of your mouth. A simple help for mouth sores is rinsing throughout the day with equal amounts baking powder (the yellow box-not metal tin) & salt in water. Hold the liquid in your mouth & swish it around. Store in fridge up to 2-3 days. If the sores are more severe ask yr doc for a prescription medication. I take CBD oil for my arthritis but have read I shouldn’t given my MPN. I believe it can affect blood clotting or bleeding.
