« “One of my patients on the trial was so critically ill when she was initially diagnosed that she was told to get her affairs in order, but her AML was put into remission, and she has been receiving oral azacitidine maintenance therapy as part of the QUAZAR trial since 2013,” Dr. Roboz said.
« This is the first time a maintenance treatment for AML has shown such a strong benefit for patients, and it is already being adopted as part of standard care. »

🙏 so you believe there's hope? Isn't AML more aggressive after myelofibrosis rather than aml de novo?
Of course there’s hope! I never heard that aml was more aggressive after MF. The diverse acquired mutations dictate the aggressiveness of AML
I have also never heard that AML was more aggressive after MF, although it could make sense that the scarring in the bone marrow could contribute to a more aggressive disease. I believe the most commonly cited risk factors in AML is the specific mutation profile of the patient.
