Side effects from Drugs

After 15 years with ET I am having effects from something ( Hydroxy, covid, covid booster or maybe just the ET itself ) After starting back on Hydrea 3 days ago I was starting to feel much better. Yesterday I woke up early, had a great hike, worked all day and felt fine and went for a night bike ride with my usual group. Got home feeling great went to bed but woke up at 1 am with a variety of issues. The thing that I thing woke me as it was the first thing I noticed as a very strange metallic taste in my mouth that seemed to actually burn a little down my throat. I was also having that pin and needle feeling again along with some nausea. I couldn’t sleep so I googled and have a ton of explanations of course. I really have had none of these issues in the past at all with my ET and only two things have really changed. The use of the Hydroxy and I hate to even go there but the things started to go south after my vaccine shots. Has anyone else had these effects?

Note that a persistent sore throat is something you are supposed to report.

Tingling has been reported with the COVID vaccine, but I don't think it is common.

I would be sure to discuss the pins & needles feeling with a MPN Specialist. Paresthesia is a potential symptom of a MPN. I have not heard of it being associated with HU.

The symptoms you are experiencing sound rather bothersome. Hope you get answers and relief soon.

Could you provide a little more info as far as timeline goes? Had you ever been on HU before? Have you had Covid and when? When did you get Covid shots and boosters?

I started HU about three months ago. I never had Covid but had my booster 4 weeks ago the same time they also raised my HU from 500 to 1000 a day. Had my first two shots 7 months ago. They have me back at 500 three times a week right now to see if I will tolerate it better.
