First I want to thank everybody for the many kind and empathetic replies to my previous post regarding my herniated disc problems. I am actually doing better now. I don’t have back pain anymore but I am starting physical therapy next week. As for my low hemoglobin and red blood cell counts and my high platelet counts of over 1 million, I had labs done last week and they are back to where they should be for now. That doesn’t mean they are normal, but they are better than what they were. So I will not be needing the EPO injections for now. My Hematologist thinks that everything was out of whack because of my issues I was having with my physical ailments . I’m still very weak and lightheaded and can only handle very light activity without becoming exhausted. However, I am no longer using the walker and I just started driving this week again, so that’s good. I’m hoping that my physical therapy will build up my strength. I go back to my hematologist on June 8.
Thanks again for all your support.
Best wishes,
Cindy

Thanks so much for keeping us updated Cindy. It’s great to hear that your back pain is gone and you’re regaining your independence. And always a relief to avoid extra treatment where possible! It sounds like your care team is very good, sometimes that’s half the battle to health.
