A picture of what ET looks like under the microscope.

The tiny bright purple dots are platelets. As you can see some of them are clumping together. The larger pale purple dots are red blood cells. When a manual platelet count is done this is exactly what they are looking at.

I can show you a real platelet clump...those are just baby clumps. I will start a new post with that picture.
