Evening all... :D

Sorry for the hiatus being away from my regular Posting duties etc...

I have just successfully concluded Pt.1 of a Bicycle Mechanic's course, with Pt.2 still awaiting my forced attendance... (fatigue etc)

While I have enjoyed the course immensely, and have already gleaned so much... The biggest tip I learned thus far was just how little I actually know about bicycles... I shall persevere... of course... 8-D

This Post is not about me, but about another most inspiring person named, "Deb Wesloh" from Texas, USA. This is indeed a tale of resilience against all odds...

Hope you enjoy reading about Deb, as much as I enjoy bringing her tale to MATES & VOICE...

Very best wishes, stay safe & well all...

Steve

Hi Steve, ,I get your post isn't about you per say but credit where it's due mate so a big well done in completion of Pt 1 of your course. I hope you muster the energy to successfully complete Pt 2.

Truthfully I bet you've forgotten more than I know about bicycles; riding them, maintaining them, cycling royalty etc, , I wouldn't say I'm out of touch but my bicycle memories are of Raleigh bikes, chains jamming in the gear derailieur and Eddie Merckx 😃.

Thanks for sharing Debs story. She is an awesome lady and I'm always in awe of folk that somehow manage to turn some of the darkest hardest times in their lives into something truly positive and become a beacon of hope for others. It shines out of her and I like the fact that she is finding her ' new normal' . It's a fact that cancer and treatment of same does change you and over a relatively short time you might find you can't do everything you once did and that can be hard to accept. Deb seems to be adapting well and focusing on what she can do and learning new skills on top. Brilliant !

Take care buddy - Chris

Hey Chris... 8-D

Yes, I hadn't really ridden a bike since I was a teen, before all of this I guess...

And Eddie Merckx... Astounding!

Yes, there is so much to know but isn't that so true of life in general, and so little time to really be out there enjoying it too...

That point was not lost on me when reading about Deb Wesloh, Deb used to be a runner but has had to stop all of that today, and now finds bringing MPN awareness wherever she goes an equally worthy challenge...

Deb writes for many MPN organisations, and she has a natural talent for doing so too, in my view... It is people like Deb, and you Chris, (who write from the heart), that have really helped me lift my own game in this MPN journey...

Even during these darker days... Life can still astound and mesmerise us all by its beauty & fascinations, in my view...

Thanks buddy...

Steve
