I’m obviously self isolating My husband works part time at a school and we try very hard to be careful with hygiene but find its quite worrying to keep safe. He is now starting this week to only open the school for the key worker children in the morning and then come home with almost no contact with anyone. He has had a slight cough and head cold and he always keeps away from me and we both do our best with the sanitising and hand washing etc. I have to rely on him doing the shopping too Does anyone else find it worrying to try and keep each other safe when there is one of us that needs to be extra careful we can’t get online shopping anywhere and don’t have relatives to help Take care everyone. It is a worry, all we can do is practice what the experts tell us wherever possible.
Yes, I worry about protecting each other. I have similarities to yourself. My adult children live away, no other family nearby to help. I’m trying to do the best I can in difficult circumstances. I can’t get online shopping either, not for the lack of trying. This would make life so much easier all round.
My husband has health problems that compromise his immune system. My Mum is 94 and manages to live independently with my help. I have ET but I am the healthiest in our small family unit. If I get a letter, it will be a worrying scenario. My Mum has no carers or visitors other than me and it’s literally door to door in the car, so we’re ‘socially isolating’ as a family unit. But unless these supermarkets get their act together with online shopping I have no option but to continue shopping. I will just have to go to the smaller shops at less busier times of the day and obviously practice ‘social distancing’ with my surgical gloves and just hope for the best.
My mum is96 and lives miles away which doesn’t help. I too am dreading “ the letter” as I have heart issue and high bp as well as ET so I’m sure I will get one. Trying to stay positive Stay safe shopping and like you I’ve tried every avenue for online shopping with no result. Keep well
My husband woke up the flu on March 2. I am tripple endangered if I get corona, since I have a terrible pneumonia and bronchitis history spanning 45 years, I’ve ET and anaemic from birth. We were both scared.
We didn’t know if it was corona, since the Cor. symptoms at the time were not clear. He isolated to our 16yr olds bedroom, she slept with me. I started him on a rigid and intensive regime of vit C, ginger and other natural treatments. I kept my 2 Meter distance, sanitized doorknobs and anything he touched. All 3 of us washed our hands and sanitized again and again. Airing out the house 4-5 times daily is also important. He was back on his feet on the 4th day. Now he finally believes in my methods! 😂
Isolation is important. For us, hearing ones voice often and touching is So important for the soul, but only very quickly and then washing! good Humor an absolute necessity!!!
Thankyou Anag. It must be very worrying when you are so compromised but glad that you all came through unscathed. We do try to follow all the guidelines with distance and sanitising. It’s difficult getting products in the shops and because he has to do the shopping it’s more scary but we can only hope and do our best. Hope everything keeps well with you
Thank you, Pippa. The situation is getting worse in Austria, as expected, but the medical system seems to be well prepared and the treatments seem to be working well. Keep well! Please try to enjoy your life every day! It is very possible, even in this situation. 🙂
