Apparently blackberry, boysenberry, strawberry & lesser extent pomegranate are JAK 2 inhibitors. Unsure what the dosage would be though. Pomegranate is also supposed to be good for circulation and blocked arteries but would need to take it for some time before benefits seen (research was done over 1 year).

It supposedly lowers platelet count. I was taking pomegranate extract and platelet count has lowered but I was also taking it with interferon.

Taken from Google

"It has also been shown that after 2 weeks of PJ daily consumption15 platelet function is reduced. Our data, taken together with others previously published, strongly suggest that in vivo the pomegranate polyphenols are the active com- pounds responsible for platelet inhibition."

It lowered my platelets. I drank 2 glasses a day and ate 1 pomegranate for a month. Other counts went up though and I still ended up on Interferon. Mel x

Can you please share the link to the info on pomegranate juice. Are there any recent articles published that prove the connection of certain foods (seems to be fruits) to lowering platelet counts? I have asked the dietician on numerous occasions and her answer is just to eat a healthy diet. The articles I have read talk about foods that are inhibitors but I was hoping there is additional more current info. Thanks!

Ive read that pomegranate juice lowers platelets, but the seeds raise platelets. The juice also unclogs arteries when taken over a long period of time.

Honestly I don’t know, but I’ve been having a homemade smoothie, comprising of carrot, strawberries, blueberries, beetroot, and banana everyday. And currently my p-count is going southwards. If pomegranate works for you I’d give it a try. Good luck.

How does it taste?

It’s delicious, not too sweet and it helps that I like beetroot. If the banana is slightly under ripe a put a dash of honey in. I use sliced frozen carrot, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, fresh beetroot and 1 or 2 bananas depending on size. All put into the large cup of my nutri bullet. Add water to full so it’s not too thick. Hope that helps.
