JAKv617f is the most common type of JAK2 mutations associated with MPNs. (There are others). Heterozygous (as noted in the link below) means that the mutations are only being found on one side of the chromosome pair. Something that is perhaps more important to know is what your JAK2 mutant allele burden is. The percentage of alleles that have mutated are predicative of the course of the MPN. Less than 50% is indicative of a milder course of the illness. If the doc has not done the test - it is called a JAK2 Mutation Quantitative Analysis (or similar). It is worth knowing.
