Travel insurance on trial drug

Has anyone tried to get health insurance for travel to Europe whilst being on a trial drug? Is it possible? Is any company willing to take it on at a reasonable cost compared to having myelofibrosis without trial drug?

Have been accepted for a promising looking trial but would really like to go to Rome this year for personal reasons

Hi skodaguy. I have used Staysure they are good. But I have not been on a trial drug. It's difficult when buying insurance online as there is a set list of questions to answer, I would try to speak to them on the phone. Otherwise see an independent insurance broker. It's a difficult one as our conditions are an unknown quantity, then to factor in a trial it's a tricky one for them to assess.

I hope you manage to find a broker , don't miss your special trip....I'm sure someone will be able to help,

Wishing you well Sandy

You will need to go through a medical screening for cover of any pre-existing condition. The questions may or may not ask about medication. For instance, for high blood pressure they are only interested in how many drugs and not what they are.
