Now Experiencing High WBC

Hi Everyone,

Almost 2.5 months after phlebotomy, everything seems okays, but last CBC quite doubtful which shows wbc slightly higher.

But RBC,HB,PCV is great! Drop down since phlebo.

I have flue past days, is my WBC increase due to flue or it is due to PV?

I have never had high wbc before!

Hi the most possible is to be from flue as reactive wbc dont worry

Yes, more than likely raised due to flu.

My wife has polycythaemia vera. She recently had a bout of flu which increased her wbc by more than 25% over her normal levels. So probably nothing to worry about especially if there are no other symptoms. Might be worth getting another blood test done in 2-3 weeks to check that the wbc has gone down.

Hope so its bcs of flue,am not experiencing any symptoms except mild headache and mild fatigue!

My GP told that its bcs of flue or also bcs of emotional stress, since i have not officially diagnose yet for PV and also i invest my all time thinking and worried about the disease, thats probably another cause.
