Yes, am gradually reducing amount, but think you are on Hydroxy and I am on Anagrelide....all governed by platelets, which can vary considerably, so if the medication is reduced, it doesn't necessarily mean 'for always', as if platelets start to climb again, can be put back on former dose. I note there is a change in the Haematology Dept I attend - as the emphasis is now on 'quality of life', which is encouraging. Best wishes and hope you are doing well. Tinkerbell

I don’t know about being taken off meds altogether but I have been on one 500mg tablet of Hydroxy twice a week (Mon & Fri) for some time and it’s keeping my platelets within higher end of normal range. I live in hope that I might be able to reduce it further or come off it but with my history [ portal vein thrombosis in 2012] and now approaching 58 I doubt it. But you never know. I know I’m luckier than many who take much more every day. I’m crossing my fingers for you that your downward trend in the meds continues. Best wishes Liz
