Blobs!

I am triple neg E.T. and am on Hydroxy. 500mg Mon to Fri and 1,000mg Sat and Sun. Last week small red 'blobs' started to appear on my legs which then seemed to merge into big blobbies!! Eczema has been ruled out and I have an appointment with Dermatologist 17th July. Has anyone else had these? Slightly tender and occasionally itchy.

Hi Nodmeister, I have had rashes too, not blobs more like bubble wrap. itchy too confined to my shins until this year, now started to appear on my chest, I have seen the Dermatologist on several occasions , had a biopsy and the results were ,a shrug of the docs shoulders and him saying 'well I don't know what it is'. So I don't hold out hope for a cure, just a gentle warning for you. By the way, I also had two years in mid light wave treatment. zilch. ! Hope you have a better result than I got. I had a reply on another E.T. forum and the symptoms and pics very, very closely match something called Erythema Nodosum which I think is hilarious because I am known as Nod!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the symptoms is tiredness, no wonder I have been more exhausted than ever. Onwards and upwards.

I had Erythema Nodosum on my legs caused by Hydrea (after 6 weeks of being on it). I posted about it in 2017. It was extremely painful and I became severely ill. I was immediately taken off Hydrea and I recovered. GP and oncologist said it was a very rare allergic reaction to Hydrea. I was then put on Pegasys 90 mcg. Went well on Peg but then I started having bone and joint pain especially my legs. I am now on 45 mcg Peg every 3 weeks and am tolerating the lower dose much better. I have ET Jak2+ diagnosed without BMB in 2016 so could actually be pre-MF. Speak to your dr about taking a break from Hydrea and see if your condition clears. Good luck.
