check with a pharmacist, make sure you tell them all the other medications you are taking. Maz

Normal cold remedies should be ok but avoid decongestants if you have high blood pressure. As Maz said, check with your local pharmacist.

Paracetamol is fine on its own, but be careful taking lemsip, nightnurse, or anything else like that as this too has paracetamol in and you could overdose on it. Plus if you are on any blood pressure tablets consult with your local pharmacy before taking any cough medicine as well, always tell them what you are taking drug wise, or seek advise from you doctor first.🤧🤒😷 I find using lemon, honey in hot water really helps with colds, you can take paracetamol with this no problem, plus steaming my face also helps.

I think there is a wide held view that paracetamol / ibuprofen (but not latter if you’re on aspirin etc) plus warm honey / lemon (and slug of brandy or scotch??!) works just as well and is cheaper than ‘cold remedies’. Add in a soothing pastel or a throat spray (great things) and you’ve probably got your armoury. As others have said so easy for people to overdose on ready made preparations. Amazing how many don’t clock the paracetamol content. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi, one of our fellow sufferers recommended ‘Vicks’ ‘first defence’ nasal spray at the first sign of an infection, can’t remember who it was but a big thankyou I think it’s brilliant.
