Hi I am new here my daughter is in the hospital after having a procedure with a scope for administering glue into her varices that she developed a year-and-a-half ago this was her second treatment. She ended up getting c-diff and an ulcer and got very sick on Thanksgiving Day 2 days after the procedure. When they went in and found this ulcer and Air they did not see this all started the first scope so they're assuming he also there was caused by the scope procedure and the glue injections. Her GI Doctor is recommending her spleen removed ( not now but that's goal)
because it is enlarged she also has Type 2 diabetes pancreatitis and very very large abdomen and it's hard oh, what you said for many many years which nobody is ever diagnosed why she has this. It's very frustrating because there seem to be no other options. She was doing well finally with her c-diff treatment and then they changed medications yesterday and she was sick again and went back to Harley not eating from the c-diff. They had said her blood cell count had dropped again and it was high on arrival. She was having much of the symptoms that she has with when she has a varices attack. So now I don't know if she's having a problem with her varices I won't know till I get up to the hospital today. She's too young to be going through this and it says she's lost her quality of life and her will to even want to live and obviously This concerns me as a mother. Because she's constantly in the hospital she wants to throw our hands up she really does not have a great quality of life has a great husband, but no children. She also fell down a flight of stairs from her job this year so she's been out on disability for that and trying to recoup herself does anybody have any answers that can help. Has anybody experienced anything to do with such a large abdominal wall. My daughter is overweight but I've never seen anything like this it isn't fat it's really rock hard. Does varices causes? Does blockages caused this?. And yes she does have a blockage in her portal vein from a previous hospitalization. They are saying that she was taking too many Aleve is what caused hers. It really seems like all of this is unsafe. I'd really like to know if there's some sort of treatment outside of the United States that someone may know about that could help and is not as invasive
