Hi Cliffe, I'm sorry I can't help you with this one. I do remember people posting about rib ache though. Hope someone can help.

Hi Cliffe2003, I often suffer from pain similar to what you described. Also, in my hips and back. I have MF and I understand this type of pain is not uncommon. It occurs in places where bone marrow is located. Although there is not much of it in the ribs, there is some, and pain can occur in that area. Like markpoch, I was told to take painkillers. Apparently Ruxolitinib helps withs this type of pain.

Hi Cliffe, When do you get the pain? I have a pain in my lower ribs/lung area, but only as I'm waking in the morning -I wondered if it might be the hydroxy. It doesn't seem to be helped by drinking more, but it doesn't last long either -just more like a jab.

Mine is in a morning more, lasts a few hours, more liking an aching rib than a pain not had it before i was diagnosed so wondered if it was related thanks for your response

hi Cliffe, you need to get this checked with your GP, ask your GP to check your spleen, as it may be enlarged, which can happen with MPNs, and it's always best to get any pain checked by your doctor before taking any painkillers. Best wishes, Maz
