Has enyone tried an Alpha-Stim machine for pain relief. Thanks

I don't know what one of these is. Is it like a TENS machine? I've tried one of those for general pain in my shoulder & it helped. I did try the TENS on my face, as instructed by medical staff, but found it caused pain in my face & head & teeth.
