Well in reality you could have a tension kind of permanently, although that would be rare. I'm not sure you can really define a headache as a tension headache as such, headache disorders are a bit amorphous. People usually say it's a tension headache if they are feeling stressed and they are not having classic migraine like symptoms.

I have chronic migraines, for example, so I have migraines over 50% of the time, however on non migraine days I often have headaches. These feel like what one might describe as tension headaches but in reality they are all part of the same migraine disorder.

Sorry that has probably just muddied the water for you. How long are your headaches going on for currently?

Is a headache disorder dangerous

Not usually, headache disorders are extremely common. If it is completely out of character for you to have a headache and/or if you are having vision problems its generally a good idea to talk to your GP. Headaches often run in families too so that sort of information would be something a doctor might ask about. I shouldn't think you need to worry but if you are worried give them a ring and they might be able to reassure you.

I think it's maybe a cervicogenic headache so when I put my chin on my chest I feel a pulling or something then my headache gets worse and when I'm lying down and I put my head up individually I feel a great pressure on the back of my head and the top

Impossible to say without getting it checked out, both things would hurt me when I have a migraine anyway so hard to tell really. How you gone to your GP?

Just wondering is it dangerous to flex your head like you know when your veins are bulging and everything

Not sure what you mean but neck rolling should always be done carefully, your head is really heavy so be careful particularly when rolling your head backwards.

That just sounds normal to me but if it's not normal for you that's what's important. I've had migraines for decades so my neck is really sensitive.
